This dataset was prepared to support the evaluation of objective quality metrics in the context of the JPEG Pleno Final Call for Proposals on Objective Metrics for Light Field Quality Assessment. The dataset was developed within the ISO/IEC JPEG Pleno standardization activity, in the context of JPEG Pleno Part 7: Light Field Quality Assessment.
The dataset comprises eight reference light fields covering different spatial and angular characteristics, as well as natural and synthetic content. A total of 144 distorted LF stimuli were generated, covering coding-only conditions as well as reconstruction-based conditions involving interpolation and 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS). Subjective quality scores were obtained using a hybrid Double Stimulus Comparison Scale with Pairwise Comparison (DSCS+PC) methodology. The method combines reference-based rating with selective pairwise comparison in ambiguous quality regions, providing interpretable subjective quality scores with improved local perceptual resolution.
The dataset includes reference and distorted LF stimuli, subjective quality scores, and computed objective results.
